Differences Between Remote and In-Person Deposition Preparation
Depositions are a highly important step attorneys should take to ensure the best results for their case. They allow attorneys to gather a complete profile of facts and testimonies. Court reporters record all questions and answers into an easy-to-read transcript for attorneys to analyze and form an even more solid case.
Because of the global health crisis, some attorneys aren’t sure how to hold a depositions when they can’t meet face-to-face. Remote depositions are the answer attorneys need. They serve the same purpose as in-person depositions, but are conducted from the safety of one’s home, making them the alternative legal professionals need. There are certain things attorneys should be aware of when preparing for a remote deposition. Use this page as a guide to know some key differences between preparing for a remote deposition and preparing for an in-person deposition.

- Wear professional attire.
- Do not speak over another person, speak slowly, and speak clearly to ensure everyone is heard.
